REENTRY CONSULTATION
Consultants for Change, Inc. (CFC) currently implements an evidence-based, gender-responsive and trauma-informed approach to serving the female returning citizens engaged in our program funded by the Justice Grants Administration. Our services include working with women while they are in custody to develop a release plan, collecting data to understand her needs, connecting her to community resources to address those needs, and assessing her progress regularly. We provide supportive services through case management, helping each woman coordinate all of the ongoing services needed to successfully reintegrate into the community. This approach reflects an understanding of the gender-specific needs of woman and is also useful in understanding women’s pathways to knowledge acquisition through different educational initiatives centered in adult learning models.
CFC has worked hard over a period of years to develop a network of community-based organizations that are ready, willing, and able to help female returning citizens. Furthermore, our approach to service delivery has demonstrated results based on a long history and deep familiarity with female returning citizens. We meet women “where they are” and enable them to access the resources that are available to them while holding them accountable with support and guidance. If your are developing a women's reentry program and need support and guidance as you train your staff, build infrastructure, write grants and hire staff, we will work with you to ensure you have the tools and supports you need. As part of this consultation we will address the ongoing needs of reentry programming including assiting you to develop a strategic reentry plan and S.W.O.T. analysis, and support your messaging and branding that will help you build relationships with your local, jail, halfway house, probation department and community programs.
